The starting point for today’s festivities is the school at the plaza, at a fairly prompt 9 a.m. Children from all over town will parade in school uniform behind the highly coveted post of flag bearers, marching as seriously as they can, with classmates providing music on trumpets and drums. There will be men and women in costume on horseback, and various associations following the procession, which includes 3 Queens with attendants, waving from their plastic chair thrones in the back of pickups. Nothing much happens until 1pm when the greasy pole at the plaza is a source of great entertainment. Nothing else is planned, except for the charro at 5pm. This is opposite the Tercera Edad seniors facility on canal Road. You get there by driving up Encino, off from the Northbound lateral at Southern Bucerias, past the recyclers yard, turn right at the end, the charro is a few yards further along on the left. Be advised: this event never starts on time !
