Here is a photo of what the beach looks like just down from the central plaza. Yes, that is the lifeguard tower engulfed by piles of earth. The whole area continues to be a construction site with stones and “rebar” and heavy plant equipment and is generally a no go area. The rumour that the whole travelling fair and entertainment would be held over in the Sports Field was just that – a rumour. The actuality is that everything will be based along the far end of Ave Mexico, which is closed off starting from Bistro Limon. That’s also where the hastily constructed stage is for all the various performances.
In honour of Our Lady of the Peace, starting Thursday 16 January at 6 pm, the first of the Peregrinaciones (Pilgrimages) will arrive at the main church in the central square. Other pilgrimages from various local areas will arrive on successive evenings at the Church at 6pm. Daily Mass at 5 a.m., Mass de Alba at 5.30 a.m. Rosario and offering of flowers at 5 pm, and another Mass at 7pm.
Special reception of the women’s torch on the 16th at 7 pm. Baptisms on Sunday 19th.
All fairground rides and booths located on Ave Mexico; additional children’s rides on empty lot on Ave Mexico corner of Guerrero (Where Shamrock used to hold their St Pat’s Day party).
Again, the stage is at Bistro Limon and closes off Ave Mexico at the junction of Guerrero. Leave your cars somewhere else, do not try and find a parking space in the Centro – you will not succeed! Please be aware that “ballet” encompasses “dancing” and does not mean “Swan Lake”.

I LOVE this time of the year. This was one of the main reasons we got our office location. Thanks for this, Ronnie. I have NEVER seen the schedule of events before and this makes it much easier to share!!!
I can’t wait to see how this year works. We’ll be sitting on the sidewalk (on our couches) watching it all unfold. Stop by for a map (and maybe a shot of tequila).
Thank you John !
Will drop in and say hi. Lynn
It was super fun to drop by last year with John and Christie! They have some great seats! 😉

Good to read the news when we are still up here in the frozen northern Saskatchewan. Looking forward to see the town square when we get down there Feb. 28th Hopefully all the work will be complete by then.
Living here in Paradise is really hard to think of the frozen North. Will all the work be done..? Keep reading!
