Drag Race a roaring success !

10574482_803787426372012_6501240873047015058_n[1]Gentlemen, a toast to the ladies!  Too late – they are already drinking to themselves!

The Second Annual Drag Race was not for the faint hearted nor the flat chested.   There were three competitions: They strutted their stuff on the cat walk at the Luna Lounge, winner was Colin in his LBD, tho zigzag Jay was a strong contender.  Then they lip synced  to “I will survive”, and “Man, I feel like a woman” in the final which made the winner Gordo (in the tiara) and who could be a Dirty Bitches emergency stand in.  And finally THE race to YoYoMo’s for a much needed shot of tequila and back – Tony’s ample Mae Wests preventing any serious injury when he fell.  Again, Gordo, long legs and running shoes, was the winner.

A great fun event, this raised over 22,000 pesos for the benefit of the seniors at the  Tercera Edad’s facility on the Canal Road.  Money will go towards medicines required  and it looks like three more lucky seniors will be getting full dentures. Congratulations to the organisers, YoYoMo’s & Luna Lounge contributions, and many thanks to the participants and voters!

My wife Linda and I arrived in Bucerias on January 1 2015 2015 for our first longer time stay and found the people here to be very friendly and helpful. Here it is almost time to head back north to Alberta on March 31. During our stay here we attended to many functions put on by some people, not knowing who they were, believe me they were well organized. Some friends that we met put us on to this website, I opened it up and found all the different projects that were happening in town, it appears that the members are kept very busy. My wife and I have been very active in the communities where we lived, and am happy to be involved We both are members of Lions clubs of which I have held many positions from being president Vice President and many other positions also I am a Legion member. We were wondering if next year could become active with your com minty club it is nice to be involved thanks wes and Linda

We would be delighted to have you join Amigos and help the community in any way that you are able! So sorry you have not come to our breakfast meetings and met up with other like minded people – we meet the first Saturday of every month. And we also do beach clean up the second Saturday of every month. And of course recycling and then there are all the charity events needing volunteers! We look forward to your return next season – we can soon fill your “dance card” ! Don’t forget about Bucerias while you are away – keep checking the website for updates on “Page One, and also the Minutes of the meetings – and also for the charities Wish Lists – what to bring down in your suitcase… And if you have Lions Club ideas – please share them!
