Finally got this performance confirmed! The ladies will be waiting in the Arroyo for the blessing of the fleet Saturday morning, 24 January. And they will be delighting everyone with their magnificent horsewomanship skills the same afternoon, Saturday 24 January, starting at 4 pm (which as you know by now most likely means 5 pm).
For those of you who have not seen this, you really should come along with your camera, you won’t be disappointed! The word translates into Skirmishers: they wear their beautiful dresses and ride side saddle – and come into the arena at full speed ! Tickets at the entry will be in the region of 50 pesos and there should be snacks and beverages for sale.
The charro arena is on the canal road opposite the Tercera Edad Seniors Facility. Directions: from Mega turn right on Encino (bright orange hardware/ferreteria store on the corner). It is a paved road and goes past the excellent El Eden nursery which is on both sides of the road, and our recycling yard. Turn right when you get to the canal and the charro arena is just along on the left. From the highway it is only a 5 – 10 minutes walk.
And then back to the plaza in the evening for entertainment and fireworks – what a day!
