Two of the lovely ladies from the Tercera Edad presented the first “T.E.Abuelas Mexican Cooking Class” at the BBCC on Wednesday 12 June. Now pay attention: TE = Tercera Edad. Abuela = grand mother. All tickets were sold as soon as the word went out! For a mere 50 pesos you learnt how to make enchiladas the real Mexican way (one of many variations!), buy a glass of wine, coffee, or non alcoholic beverage, and got to sample one of the goodies – and to order some to take home. GREAT idea!
There were about 20 of us watched Leonor and Antonia , with translations by Mago from the BBCC, and all kudos to all those ladies for being brave enough to stand up in front of their very interested audience… takes some doing you know!! And many thanks to grand daughter Marianna for the after event helping with the clear up. Leonar and Antonio’s recipe will be featured on our website shortly.
The next “Abuelas class” will be Wednesday 26 June, at the BBCC: ChickenMole – get your tickets in advance before we sell out yet again, 5o pesos: Call Marilyn: 298 6441 or BBCC: 298 3527 or Alison: (cel) 322 102 0382
